Welcome to Carrie Calhoon, who will be joining our department as an Early ACCESS service coordinator, beginning duties on Aug. 15. She will be housed out of the Storm Lake AEA office and will serve families located in Zone 3. Carrie lives in Spencer, attended school K-12 in Sioux Rapids and has taught preschool for 2 years at Ruthven Ayrshire.
Most recently, she has worked for UDMO as a Child Care Specialist for the past 8 years providing home visits to child care providers.
Carrie is trained in PBIS, Child Net, ECCERS-R, FCCERS-R, Power of Mental Health, Creative Curriculum (Family Child Care, Infant/Toddler Care), GOLD Assessment, Baby Signs, ASQ, Reality Works (Shaken Baby, Drug Affected Baby and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Baby), IPTV 1st Books and A Place of Our Own, IELS, IQPPS, Every Child Reads, Strengthening Families, Adult Learning Styles and Mediation! What an asset she will be to all of us!
