Building Rep Role

Here is an email conversation asking for clarification on rep role for next year.

Denise: Since I know you've been working on finalizing assignments, wondering if you could help clarify
"Rep. assignments will not be made for Head Starts, non-public preschools and district preschools where the ECSE teacher serves as rep".(document sent by ZC) There seems to still be some questioning what this means? Thanks

Pam: We put that in originally to allow for flexibility in places where ECSE consultants served as the Building Rep currently and said at the ECSE meeting that we would likely have a variety of "set-ups". We do believe that ECSE programs need to have access to Mental Health/Behavior folks as needed and in areas where there are larger program needs (Storm Lake and Spencer for example) we have assigned folks on a more active basis.

Parents as Presenters

Attached is the information about the "Parents as Presenters" workshop that is hosted each year. It is a great opportunity for parents to "tell their story", as well as to become connected to other families who can be a resource and support. Perhaps you know of a family that would benefit from this experience - it's a great way to empower them; so please share the information with the families you see. Sometimes you will be surprised who shows interest! Applications are due June 9.

Hearing Department

During the summer, the audiologists prefer to be contacted via email, but like in the past, they will have summer booth eval dates and once they get those days set up, they will notify the ECSE teachers.
